THE boss of a Bradford firm has condemned raiders who stole two of its vans valued at an estimated £90,000.

Two large fully loaded Ford Transit vans were stolen from Access Solutions Northern Limited, a doors repair firm based in Wibsey Park Avenue.

Each van is valued at £25,000 and both of the vehicles contained power tools, spare parts and door fixings worth an estimated £15,000 to £20,000.

It is estimated the raid has cost the firm up to £90,000.

The incident took place sometime between 1pm and about 6pm on Sunday when the firm was shut.

Shocked staff returned to the site at about 6.30pm after travelling back from Leigh to watch the Bradford Bulls - which its sponsors - lose their opening match of the season to see the gates had been opened.

Both of the stolen vans have distinctive lettering on them.

Each has the company's logo, email address and website and other lettering in yellow, white and red across each of the sides.

The firm has also taken to twitter to appeal for more information after the vans were stolen.

Mike McKenny, business manager, said staff at the firm were forced to rearrange jobs and use some of its smaller vans to complete their jobs.

He said: "It is just a real kick in the guts for us when we are a small company.

"It was a big inconvenience for ourselves when we had to rearrange jobs.

"They don't seem to have left any trace.

"It's frustrating. We have had to change some of our jobs around.

"What we don't need is something like this.

"How many other small businesses about Bradford use Transit vans? They could be targeted next."

The firm, which has 13 staff, provide specialists in the repair, maintenance and installation of all types of electrically operated automatic sliding doors, swing doors, manual doors, fire exit doors and access control entry systems.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman confirmed the incident took place at the firm's Wibsey Park Avenue site on Sunday between 1pm and 6.30pm and said inquiries were continuing into the incident.

Anyone with further information, or who might have seen anything suspicious in the area on Sunday afternoon, is urged to call the Bradford South Area Neighbourhood Team on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
