POLICE have stepped up patrols in Cleckheaton Town Centre in response to complaints about large groups of young people causing disruption at the bus station.
Officers from Batley and Spen neighbourhood policing team are responding to concerns raised by local residents about the groups.
Police were called by staff at the bus station to a large group causing nuisance and refusing to move on at around 6.35pm on Friday.
Officers attended and stop-searched several young people and moved them out of the area, informing the parents of some members of the group where they were and what they were doing.
The area will continue to be patrolled, but police are still urging members of the local community to report any gatherings of youths by ringing '101'.
