THE company behind plans for a drive through KFC on Odsal Road have appealed Bradford Council's decision to refuse planning permission.
QFM had wanted to build the restaurant and a 68 space car park at the Wiltex House site, formally the site of a snooker hall and police station.
But in August, those plans were refused by the Council on the grounds that the business, near Odsal roundabout, would lead to dangerous traffic conditions. It was also decided that the opening, until 11pm, seven nights a week, would be detrimental to neighbours.
Their application had said the business would create 15 full time and 25 part time jobs.
The company has now submitted an appeal to the Secretary of State saying the refusal was based on "spurious" concerns. It said a traffic report it commissioned identified no traffic problems on Odsal Road. The company's appeal adds: "The refusal does not appear to be based on any professional or indeed other evidence to light levels to neighbours.
"The proposal should be approved without delay."
