POLICE and paramedics were called to the scene of a crash involving a woman motorcyclist and a car in Canal Road, Bradford, today.
The accident, involving a black and red Yamaha 125cc sports bike and a silver Toyota Yaris occurred at the junction with Gaisby Lane at about 11.30am.
The injured rider, Georgie Scaife, 17, of Gildersome, was comforted by passersby as she lay in the road before she was able to get to her feet and helped by paramedics into an ambulance.
She was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary for treatment to leg and ankle injuries.
Miss Scaife, an insurance worker, said she was travelling home from visiting a friend in Blackburn when the crash occurred.
The car remained in the middle of the road facing in the Shipley direction as police directed traffic around the crash scene beside a pedestrian crossing.
Jams built up in both directions while emergency services deal with the incident.
