A MAN who travelled 40 miles to Bradford to have sex with a 13-year-old girl was today warned by a judge to expect a significant prison sentence.

The child was in her school uniform when she met up with Bilal Hussain who repeatedly drove to the city from his home in Manchester.

They had sex in his car several times after they began chatting over BBM, the Blackberry messaging service.

Hussain, 26, of Lytton Avenue, Cheetham Hill, Manchester, pleaded guilty on the day of his trial today to four charges of sexual activity with a child.

His case was adjourned for reports from the probation service and his doctor.

The court heard he had suffered a heart attack and more information was needed about his state of health.

Judge Christopher Batty warned Hussain: "You will receive a custodial sentence. The issue will be how long.

"It will be a significant sentence because this is serious offending."

He ordered Hussain to sign on the sex offenders register and enlarged his bail until the next hearing.

The case was reserved to Judge Batty who will sentence Hussain at Leeds Crown Court on March 23.

Hussain's victim is now 15 but she was 13 at the time and he was 24.

She knew him by the name Saj Ali and believed he was 19 years old, she told the police.

In January, 2013, Hussain drove to Bradford in his VW car to meet the girl and they just drove around.

After several more meetings, he took her to a secluded area and they had sex in the car.

She told the police she was wearing her school uniform at the time and Hussain was aware of her age.

He drove her to school afterwards.

Although the relationship was consensual, it was illegal because the girl was only 13.

The teenager showed the police a sexually explicit message she received from Hussain that contained a photo of him.

He was arrested and interviewed in August, 2013, and denied the offences.

He said he had never heard of the girl and that his VW car was off the road at the time after it was involved in an accident.

The following month, the girl picked out Hussain at a police identification procedure.

West Yorkshire Police tracked his VW car on its Automatic Number Plate Recognition system and found it had been driven on the M62 and in Bradford in January, 2013.
