A PEDESTRIAN has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Bradford this morning.

Emergency services were called to Canal Road, near Manningham Sawmills, just before 7am, to treat the 37-year-old man for injuries to his legs and back.

He was taken by ambulance to Bradford Royal Infirmary, but a spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said his injuries were not thought to be serious.

The vehicle involved was said to be a Renault Scenic.

The accident caused traffic to back up in both directions on the A650, causing delays for motorists in and out of Bradford.
