SCHOOLS in Bradford and Kirklees are already signing up to participate in the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch.
Among those taking part in this year’s event, which runs from January 24 to 25, are Bradford Grammar School, Lower Fields Primary, Birkenshaw CofE First and Nursery, Shirley Manor Primary, Rainbow Nursery, Worthinghead Primary School and St Columba’s Catholic Primary.
The event, in its 36th year, encourages everybody to count the birds in their gardens or at the local park to help the charity gain a vital snapshot of garden bird numbers in winter.
Participants can record the birds as they see them directly on to a laptop, tablet or smartphone with an online bird counting tool or send results in the post.
