A MAN has been left with a fractured eye socket after being assaulted in Bradford.

The 50-year-old victim was walking near shops on Toller Lane in Heaton at about 7.30pm on Boxing Day, when he was approached by an Asian man and became involved in an argument.

The victim was struck in the face, suffering damage to his eye and bruising.

Police said the Asian man, who was believed to be accompanied by two or three other Asian men, ran off towards Duckworth Lane.

The suspect is believed to be between 16 and 18 years of age, and about 5ft 7ins tall. He is described as being of medium to stocky build, clean shaven, with a Bradford accent.

Detective Inspector Alan Flynn, of Bradford District CID, said: “We believe that a weapon may have been used in the attack, due to the injuries suffered by the victim. We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or recognises this male from this e-fit, or anyone else who witnessed suspicious activity in the area at the time of the attack.”
