A BRADFORD-raised award-winning author came back to her hometown to help mark the first anniversary of City Library.
Cath Staincliffe, who penned the books based on the TV series Scott & Bailey, held a question and answer session at the library last night.
She has written 20 novels including her latest, Letters To My Daughter’s Killer. She also created the ITV series Blue Murder starring Caroline Quentin.
Ms Staincliffe said: “It’s great to be back in Bradford. My mum still lives here, so I come back quite regularly. “This is a lovely library, I’ve not been before. I was in the right place at the right time with my books that became TV series.”
Her visit rounded off a day of activities at City Library, including stories and performances for the under fives performed by professional story-teller Sue Dyde. At the Bradford Local Studies Library, which also opened a year ago, historian Kathryn Hughes gave an insight into the lives of children in the First World War.
