A BRADFORD district police officer has been suspended after being arrested for theft.
The 52-year-old man was arrested, along with a 55-year-old man, described as being a member of staff at the same force, on Friday morning.
Officers had raided a property on Norman Lane in Eccleshill shortly after midnight and the pair were arrested on suspicion of theft.
On Saturday it was announced that the pair had been bailed pending further enquiries, and have also been suspended from the force.
The property is believed to be owned by the 52-year-old.
Police spent much of Friday searching the house and a skip outside.
Detective Superintendent Osman Khan, of West Yorkshire Police Professional Standards Department said: "The 52-year-old serving police officer and 55-year-old member of police staff arrested in connection with an allegation of theft have both been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
"They have both been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation."
