FOUR teenagers have been referred for drugs intervention assistance following problems involving a youth gang using a skate park in Ilkley.
Complaints started last month about teenagers using the New Brook Street Skate Park in the centre of town, with people expressing concern about the poor conduct of those involved, with bad language and cannabis misuse.
As a result of police work, 18 youths have now been served with yellow anti-social behaviour awareness notices, which is the first stage of action which can be taken against them to control behaviour problems.
Four were also referred to a drugs intervention project and school children in the area have been given drugs misuse briefings by police.
