A DRUG addict held in custody after he burgled a pharmacy and two takeaways in the space of four days was released on a deferred sentence order yesterday.

Shamal Hussain, 28, of Kensington Street, Girlington, Bradford, stole e-cigarettes and charity boxes from the Sahara pharmacy, on Duckworth Lane, Bradford, overnight between October 17 and 18.

Prosecutor Paul Nicholson told Bradford Crown Court, four days later, Hussain burgled the till from nearby Fresh Fillings and was caught red-handed trying to steal a television set from Chicken Cottage, also on Duckworth Lane.

Hussain, who has a long list of convictions for offences including burglary and harassment, had his sentence deferred until May 20 on condition he seeks help for his Class A drug addiction and does not commit any more offences.
