ANNE Longfield has been named as the next Children’s Commissioner for England.
Ms Longfield (pictured), of Ilkley, who is also chief executive of the national children’s charity 4Children, will take up her post on March 1 next year “I am delighted and hugely privileged to have been appointed,” she said.
“It’s a vitally important role with the potential to make a real difference for children in this country, especially for those vulnerable children who need our protection and support the most.”
