A NEW, free smartphone app to help expectant mums and dads through the first stages of parenthood is being officially unveiled in Bradford tomorrow.

The app, called Baby Buddy, offers personalised information approved by doctors and midwives that spans from pregnancy to the first six months after birth.

The project has been funded by the Big Lottery Fund and developed by the charity Best Beginnings.

Alison Baum, chief executive of Best Beginnings, said: “The Baby Buddy app is designed to increase the uptake of health services, encourage early and regular attendance at NHS appointments and provide the next generation of young parents with the knowledge, skills and confidence to maximise their children’s development.”

The official unveiling will be held at Tyersal Children’s Centre at 10am today.
