When Bradford actor Andrew-Lee Potts signed up for a new TV series, little did he know he was about to embark on what is being tipped as THE telly event of 2007... and that he would find love at the same time.
Andrew, 25, of Wibsey, will appear in the prime-time Saturday tea-time slot on ITV from Saturday, February 10, as part of the cast of the ground-breaking Primeval series.
The spectacular show uses the technology that brought prehistoric beasts to life in the Walking With Dinosaurs BBC series... but brings the monsters into the present day.
Andrew plays a palaeontologist who is drawn into the team that is tasked with keeping tabs on the beasties that are suddenly appearing in modern Britain thanks to a "rip in time".
Also on the team is zoologist Abby Maitland, played by former S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt... and with whom Andrew has found real-life love.
He said: "We met for the first time on set and we just hit it off. It's going really well. We're very happy."
The six-episode series finished shooting last July and Andrew says he and Hannah have been in a relationship since then.
Andrew, whose smouldering good looks have attracted a lot of attention, even seems to have been given the thumbs up for his relationship with Hannah from his army of fans.
On a website devoted to his work, www.andrewleepotts.co.uk, Potts fans say: "They look very good together and we think Hannah is very sweet. Good luck to them."
Andrew, who has just starred in ITV crime drama Trial and Retribution, is no stranger to celebrity relationships - he has dated former Hear'Say singer Suzanne Shaw, who said at the time she was so happy that she wanted to "shout it from the rooftops".
And Hannah was previously linked to Paul Cattermole, another member of the now-defunct S Club 7 - which also counted Big Brother race-row contestant Jo O'Meara among its roster.
As part of the cast of Primeval, though, Andrew and Hannah are likely to remain in the spotlight for the coming weeks as the show is predicted to get sky-high ratings.
In the coveted Doctor Who family fantasy tea-time slot on a Saturday, the combination of high adventure, big monsters and thrilling cliff-hangers is sure to make it must-see TV.
Andrew said: "It is a super-cool show. I don't think it's really comparable to Doctor Who, though - Primeval's like nothing that's been on before. It's going to be a cult all in itself."
And Andrew's star is only going to shine brighter in 2007 - he's got several projects coming up this year, including a big-screen adaptation of a Stephen King chiller 1408, starring Hollywood heavyweights Samuel L Jackson and John Cusack, and Heart of a Dragon, in which he stars with sister Sarah-Jane Potts.
