A MEMBER of the Bradford Actionnaires – an activity club for blind and partially-sighted children – has received VIP treatment aboard the London Eye after winning a national writing competition.
Farsley youngster Findlay McKeown, 11, (pictured) enjoyed stunning views of the capital with four other winners courtesy of the Action for Blind People charity.
He won the opportunity by writing about a recent horse-riding trip organised by the Bradford club.
Findlay, who has some vision, said: “It was fun going on the London Eye and watching people get smaller and smaller, and seeing things I wouldn’t normally get to see like the swirly shapes of the pavements in the parks.
“I saw Buckingham Palace, the Shard, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, all from really high. It was a really good day.”
