SERVING soldier Luke Currie has received a community sentence after admitting the assault by beating of his partner.
Currie, 26, pushed the woman against a wall after discovering she had sent text messages to another man, Skipton magistrates heard today.
His partner had called the police and officers had gone to the address in Sutton-in-Craven, near Keighley, on September 21, despite her making a second call to withdraw the complaint.
Currie, however, admitted to police that he had pushed his partner's head against a wall after 'seeing red'. The couple are now reconciled.
Currie, based at Weeton Barracks, Preston, was given a two year community order with supervision and will have to attend a building better relations programme. He was also fined £100 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and victims surcharge of £60.
