PIONEERING video links which have cut visits to Airedale Hospital have been hailed as a model for the cash-pressed NHS.
Patients at about 50 nursing and residential homes can talk to health experts at the Steeton hospital on the telemedicine service – and more are set to sign up.
Now the initiative has been hailed for cutting emergency admissions from those homes by 35 per cent and attendances at A&E by 53 per cent.
And it has been praised in a five-year plan for the NHS across England, published yesterday.
