TURNOVER at the Australian subsidiary of Bradford-based Driver Hire is booming with turnover at its Brisbane operation passing A$1million for the first time.

The milestone was reached within the first six months of trading at the Brisbane branch of Driver Hire Australia, which like its UK parent, specialises in providing casual and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to the road transport and logistics industry.

Driver Hire opened its first Australian office in Perth in January 2012 and added the Brisbane office last year , opening in Melbourne earlier this year.

Chris Chidley, group chief executive said: “Driver Hire has set about raising the bar for the Australian recruitment industry by delivering a market-leading quality of service. Customers clearly like what we offer.

"The levels of business in Brisbane are exceptional for an office that is only just over a year old. Our success there and across Australia is down to the quality of our people, both in terms of the drivers we provide and our office staff who co-ordinate the service. ”

Chris said he is looking forward to a bumper full year trading for the Brisbane office, predicting revenue well above A$2million "Not only are Nick Phillips and his Brisbane team retaining their current customers, they’re also winning a lot of new business too. We have high hopes for the future, not just in Brisbane, but across the whole of Australia where we are looking to expand our network when further opportunities arise,” he said.
