TWO men who stole a car in Bingley and dumped it less than a quarter of a mile away are being hunted by police.

The duo got their hands on the keys to a Peugeot 407 at the Co-op food store, at Five Rise shopping centre, on September 11 at about 5pm.

They found the car outside and stole it, but the owner spotted it later that day at the nearby Wellington Street car park - 0.2 miles away.

Police said a satellite navigation system had been taken, but the vehicle was not damaged.

A spokesman added that the theft of the car was "seemingly random" and not linked to any other incidents.

One of the men is described as white, in his 30s, with very short fair hair. He was wearing a dark-blue polo shirt and blue jeans.

The second man was white, with short blond hair. He was wearing a light-blue Adidas T-shirt, shorts and white trainers. Police said he possibly had a tattoo on the back of one of his legs.

Anyone who knows the men, or has any information on the crime, is asked to contact police on 101.
