A FUNDRAISING event is being held tomorrow to help a couple pay for their wedding after the groom-to-be was diagnosed with lung cancer.
Steven Logan and Kate Rodgers have been a couple for 15 years and have three children together, but a few months ago received the devastating news that Steven had an aggressive form of lung cancer that required emergency treatment.
The couple have decided to marry and hope to set a date soon, but with no time to save up, an old school friend is hoping to help them realise the wedding of their dreams.
Maria Crump has contacted local businesses asking them to donate their services, and is organising the fundraising event being held tomorrow.
It will be held at the Caroline Street Social Club in Saltaire from noon until 4pm, with admission £1. There will be a variety of stalls, a raffle, cafe and a face painter, among other things.
