A MAN with mental health problems died shortly after bystanders stopped him attacking his care worker in Pudsey.
Police were called to Lane End at 3.05pm yesterday by a care worker who told officers the man, 36, was having to be restrained with assistance from members of the public.
Officers gave first aid to man after he was found to be unresponsive. He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by ambulance but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
A post-mortem examination was due to take place today.
