TWO masked robbers, one wielding baseball bats, carried out a terrifying raid at a shop in Baildon last night.

The pair struck at the shop in Higher Coach Road at about 8.35pm and forced the male shop assistant to hand over money.

They then passed him a black canvas bag and ordered him to put cigarettes into it, before taking bottles of spirits and running from the shop.

The suspects were believed to be white, about 6ft tall and of medium build. Both were wearing dark clothing. The shop assistant was uninjured in the ordeal.

Detective Inspector Ryan Bragg, of Bradford District CID, said: "Someone will have seen these men as they fled from the shop, and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the Higher Coach Road area around the time of this offence.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Bradford District CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
