A TEENAGER is critically ill in hospital after an early morning collision involving a taxi in Bradford.
West Yorkshire Police say the female pedestrian, aged 19, was involved in a collision with a Peugeot Partner hackney carriage, in Great Horton Road near the junction with Ash Grove.
She was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for emergency treatment following the incident, which happened at about 4.20am yesterday.
However, medics described her condition as "critical".
Police said the taxi driver stopped at the scene and had spoken to police about the circumstances of the collision.
Investigators are now trying to find independent witnesses to the collision, or the circumstances immediately before the impact, and anyone who can help is asked to contact PC 1388 Rob Hampshire at the Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support Team. He is based at Trafalgar House police station and can be contacted by telephone via the 101 number.
