DOUBLE yellow lines painted in Haworth’s famous Main Street have left villagers bemused.
The lines are so wonky they’ve been branded “a bit silly” by one senior councillor.
Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury Parish Council chairman, Coun John Huxley, said: “It is very wriggly. It looks like the person who did it must have used a machine that needs a flat surface and can’t cope with setts.”
A Bradford Council response about the lines made no reference to the standard of the work.
But Simon D’Vali, principal highway engineer, said: “We’re currently working on a scheme for the upper section of Main Street.
“As there are no changes planned for the lower part of Main Street, between Rawdon Road and the Fleece, the single yellow lines on the west side and the resident parking bays on the east side which were very worn and faded have been renewed.”
