A COUPLE will return to Clayton for their diamond wedding anniversary celebrations.

Reg and Wendy Holland will mark their milestone day on October 2 with a special party at Clayton Village Hall, in the village where they both grew up.

They met at a dance in Clayton Village Hall, Reva Syke Road, when Reg was 21 and Wendy was 17.

The couple were married in 1954 and both worked at woollen mills until they moved to Pembrokeshire, where Mr Holland managed the Haverfordwest office of an insurance firm.

They still live in the south-west Wales town and also bought and worked at a shop and post office at Simpson Cross in Haverfordwest until they retired in 1994.

The couple have two daughters, Susan and Sandra, seven grandsons and three great-grandsons.

Mr Holland said: "We have hired a coach and we're taking this side of the family to meet the other side of the family in Yorkshire.

"We've got relatives coming from as far as America and New Zealand to celebrate with us.

"We get on well because everything we do is a natural partnership, whether it be working together or living together.

"We share everything and we look after each other."
