THE SEARCH Station is up and running at the Rainbow Children’s Centre in Braithwaite, Keighley.

The centre is offering free Internet access for Braithwaite and Guard House residents to carry out everyday tasks.

Advisers are on hand to help people search for jobs, find housing and cut the price of their fuel bills.

Search Station activities centre around employment, with a job search service, at the filling applications and support with writing CVs.

Community worker Karen Wadsworth said people could also put in bids for housing with social landlord Incommunities, search online for the best-priced utilities, and had opportunities for volunteering.

Karen said that although the venue was a children’s centre, people of all ages were welcome to visit the Search Station.

She said: “It’s open to the whole community. Join our friendly environment for access to the Internet for everyday services.”

The Search Station has a worker from Incommunities’ Open Field service, which deals with employment, enterprise, training and skills.

The Open Fields advisor works one-to-one with people to help them find work, develop a business idea or gain the skills they need to make the most out of their life.
