KEIGHLEY community centre groups hunting for new members have shown off what they can offer in an Airedale Shopping Centre display window.

The installation, put together by organisations based in the Sue Belcher Centre, in Bracken Bank, includes photographs, information and a wide variety of craftwork products.

The two main groups featured were the Good Life Coffee Stop, which is run by Allan Glew and meets at the Sue Belcher Centre from 10am to 11.30am on Mondays and the Craft Tea Corner group, which meets at the same venue on Thursdays from 9.30am to 11.30am.

Also included were details on the Alleycats and Zumba groups, as well as craft products made by the Sewing Machines and Crafts shop, which is based in South Street, Keighley. The store is run by mother and daughter pair Diana Watson and Carol Spence.

David Weston, chairman of Craft Tea Corner, said shop had played an important part in getting his group support.

"The main reason we've put this display together is to attract new members," he said. "The shopping centre management have said they've received a lot of good feedback about it, so they're more than willing for us to do it again next year.

"We always wanted this to be a display we could be proud of, because it'll be seen by some of the people who fund us.

"Not only does it show off what goes on at the Sue Belcher Centre, it shows how much backing we get from retailers. We wouldn't survive without them."
