POLICE are trying to trace a getaway vehicle used by thieves who targeted a man sat in his car.

The 44-year-old victim was in a grey Volkswagen Golf in the car park of a business in Cleckheaton Road, Low Moor, Bradford, when the rear window was smashed and a rucksack, containing a quantity of cash and a laptop, was stolen.

Police believe the suspects, thought to be three Asian men in their 20s, ran off towards a black or dark coloured Seat Leon waiting nearby.

The victim was shaken, but uninjured.

Detective Inspector Ryan Bragg, of Bradford District CID, said: "We believe the victim was targeted by these men and that they were waiting for him to leave the premises.

"It is likely this vehicle was in the Low Moor area for a time before the incident occurred, so we are appealing for anyone who might have seen it in Cleckheaton Road, or anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area with a similar vehicle.

"We believe the vehicle was driven down Cleckheaton Road towards Oakenshaw and possibly Chain Bar roundabout, so we would also appeal to anyone who saw a vehicle of similar description heading in that direction, possibly at speed, at around 1.30pm."

The theft happened at 1.15pm on Monday. Anyone with information should contact Bradford District CID on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
