A 13-YEAR-OLD girl who ran away from home was trafficked by a group of men in Bradford who had sex with her, a court heard.

The teenager left her Sheffield home in August last year and ended up in the city where she came under the influence of a group of adult men, jurors at Sheffield Crown Court were told.

The girl's disappearance sparked a police appeal and she was discovered in Bradford more than a week after she went missing, prosecutor Tom Storey said.

Mr Storey told the trial of five men, which started today, that the girl was taken to a hotel in central Bradford where one of the defendants, Shakeal Rehman, 26, raped her.

The prosecutor said another of the men, Mohammed Shapal, 22, also had sex with the girl and a third, Usman Ali, 21, picked her up in a car and had sex with her a day later.

The prosecutor said: "He (Ali) told her she was a pretty girl and told her he was a sexy guy."

The teenager, who had just celebrated her 13th birthday when she went missing, told police she got into the car because she was cold.

Mr Storey added: "He told her she was going to be his girlfriend."

The barrister said the girl also told police she told Ali she was 13-years-old.

He said the teenager also told officers "she had not been able to push him off because he was big and she was little."

Mr Storey also told how Bekir Rasheed took the girl to a party at Yaseen Amini's house in Bradford, where there were a number of adult men and a young girl she had never met before.

The prosecutor said it was a "reasonable inference" that the "ultimate intention of those arranging the party was that some form of sexual activity would take place once she was there."

The girl ended up in Amini's bed and he had sex with her, the court was told.

The prosecutor said Amini told police he slept on the floor and did not have sexual activity with the girl, but his DNA was found on her underwear.

Mr Storey said: "This case is about child sexual exploitation of a 13-year-old girl by these five defendants and others, in the summer of last year."

Rehman, of Haworth Road, Bradford, denies rape and trafficking.

Shapal, also of Haworth Road, Bradford, denies sexual activity with a child and trafficking.

Ali, of St Mary's Road, Manningham, Bradford, denies sexual activity with a child.

Amini, 36, of Lopham Street, Burngreave, Sheffield, denies sexual activity with a child and trafficking.

Rasheed, 36, of Ulverston Road, Woodseats, Sheffield, denies trafficking.

The trial continues.
