Former Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh today announced she has given birth to her first child - and says he is "perfect".

The Bradford-born singer, who gave birth to a boy named Bobby yesterday, is the second member of her chart-topping group to become a mum. Nadine Coyle had a daughter, Anaiya, earlier this year.

Walsh, 32, (pictured) and her partner Justin Scott, formerly of boy band Triple 8, have been together for a decade.

Announcing her news to fans, she said: "Our beautiful baby boy Bobby arrived yesterday afternoon 04/09/14. He's perfect."

Kimberley, whose showbusiness career was nurtured at the DM Academy dance school in Shipley, was one of the stars of Strictly Come Dancing two years ago, making it to the finals of the BBC1 show.

She announced her pregnancy online in February and her former bandmates admitted they had been struggling to keep quiet about the secret, with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini - formerly Cole - admitting: "I thought at one point I was going to burst."
