IT RANKS among the classics of cinema's history and now Singin' In The Rain has been re-invented as a stage show which is expected to capture the hearts of audiences at the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford.

Big names Maxwell Caulfield and Vicky Binns, best known for her Coronation Street career, will head the cast at the stage show which runs until Saturday, September 13.

The Alhambra dates are the only chance to see the Chichester Festival Theatre production of the show in Yorkshire, following it' sell-out season in the West End.

Maxwell Caulfield will star as studio boss R. F. Simpson while Vicky Binns takes on the role of starlet Lina Lamont for the production.

They will be joined by James Leeces as Don Lockwood, Amy Ellen Richardson as Kathy Selden and Stephane Anelli as Cosmo Brown.

Singin' In the Rain started life as a 1952 movie, directed by Gene Kelly, and the musical comedy format established its place as an evergreen with audiences.

The stage production is the result of a special arrangement with Warner Bros.

The show opened last night and tickets are available through The Alhambra box office on (01274) 432000.
