THE Independent Police Complaints Commission held a youth event in Bradford to help improve young people’s confidence in the police complaints system.
About 30 young people in West Yorkshire, aged between 15 and 24, attended the event. They were invited to share their experience of contact with the police and what barriers they feel exist to making a complaint.
Participants learned what the IPCC does and how complaints are handled by police, and were encouraged in interactive sessions to discuss ideas for improving the complaints system.
