POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was stabbed and robbed in an alleyway attack in West Bowling.
The 41-year-old woman was stabbed with a knife, although she was not seriously injured as a result. She was also hit in the face and suffered cuts and bruises and was taken to hospital.
The incident happened as the victim was walking along an alleyway between Wood Royd Road and Hopbine Avenue at 7.30am on Thursday.
Her mobile phone was stolen during the attack.
A man officers want to speak to in connection with the incident is described as white, aged 30 to 35, 6ft 1ins tall, of skinny build and with short fair hair.
He was wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up, dirty black jeans and black trainers.
Another man who was with two young children came to the aid of the victim. Officers want to speak to trace this man as a witness.
Detective Inspector Richard Partis, of Bradford CID, said: "This was a particularly nasty attack against a woman walking on her own to work.
"The victim could have been left with much more serious injuries and the person who did this needs to be brought to justice.
"I would appeal directly to any witnesses to contact Bradford CID on 101."
