POLICE hunting a man accused of outraging public decency have appealed for a witness who may be able to help their investigation to come forwards.

The offence occurred on the Spen Valley Greenway, Cleckheaton, close to the bridge on Whitcliffe Road, just before 6pm on Sunday.

Police say the offender was hiding in a bush and they want to trace a man who walked past the victim, while the offender is thought to have been hiding. They have stressed he is believed to be a witness.

The suspect is described as white, wearing a bright orange baseball cap and beige jacket.

PC Mark Jones, of the Heckmondwike Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "I would appeal for any witnesses - especially this man - to come forward and get in contact. Contact police on 101."
