FORMER Bishop of Bradford Nick Baines is joining festival angels this weekend supporting the four-day Leeds Festival
The Rt Rev Baines, who recently became the first Bishop of the new Church of England diocese of West Yorkshire & the Dales, hopes to catch some of the headliners such as Arctic Monkeys and Bombay Bicycle Club as well as seeing the work of the Festival Angels - a team of church volunteers who offer a point of safety and support based at the prayer tent.
He said: “The music, the crowds and the atmosphere of festivals are fantastic, but people can still feel vulnerable for whatever reason and it’s great that these volunteers provide a safety net and place of welcome and support for anyone who needs it."
