A TEENAGE boy has been locked up for four years for raping a 12-year-old girl in a dark alleyway.
The 16-year-old, who was 14 when he attacked his victim at 7.30pm on January 27 last year, will serve his sentence in a detention centre.
The boy, who cannot be named because of his age, lives in the Barkerend area of Bradford.
He carried the girl down an alleyway in Pollard Park in the city after they exchanged messages on their phones.
The victim had been ice skating when she arranged to meet the teenager outside a shop, Bradford Crown Court heard today.
He asked for a kiss and when she refused, he followed her and grabbed her.
The boy was convicted of rape and sexual assault after a trial in front of the Recorder of Bradford, Judge Roger Thomas QC.
A second teenager, on trial with him, was cleared on the direction of the judge at the close of the prosecution case.
