A 20-YEAR-OLD woman is being treated for serious injuries after she fell from the roof of a building near the University of Bradford.

Police were called to a report of an assault on Ashgrove shortly after 1pm. When officers attended the woman climbed onto the roof. She then fell and was airlifted to hospital.

Superintendent Lisa Griffin, of Bradford District Police, said: "Emergency services attended and asked for the woman to come down. The woman is then believed to have fallen from the roof.

"She was taken by air ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary where she is being treated for serious injuries.

"The incident has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission."
