VAN owners in Bradford have been warned about a spate of thefts that saw side doors of vans "peeled" open and power tools stolen from inside.
The crimes, which have mostly taken place overnight, have led to a call for owners to remove any tools from their vehicles overnight.
A police spokesman said: "The culprits are using force to prise or ‘peel’ open the side sliding door in order to gain access to the vehicle. We are working hard to identify the people responsible and bring them to justice, however in the meantime van owners/users are advised to be vigilant and, where possible, remove the tools from the vehicle overnight or park it within a secure location.
"The offences are mostly overnight."
Anyone with information about these, or any other offences, can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
