Murder victim Ridda Zanab's devoted sister has spoken of the terrible loss of "the life and soul" of the family.

Saima Parveen said Ridda was "one in a million" and her brutal death still did not seem real.

"As a close family, we still cannot come to terms with what this evil man has done to our Ridda. She was such a fun, loving, caring person who did anything for anyone without even being asked.

"She was always very happy and loved life and all she wanted to do was to live her life for her family and friends. She just wanted to be happy, and did what she wanted, as any young female would do in the UK."

Mrs Parveen said her parents, sister and brothers still expected Ridda to come home one day.

There was a massive hole in the family that would never be replaced.

Her father missed Ridda so much it was destroying him inside and her brother Shahbaz tended her grave so that her young daughter, Aleena, can visit her mum.

Ridda's mother cannot sleep and still feels she is always with her.

Mrs Parveen said Aleena had her mother's eyes and lovely smile.

"We are so happy she is a girl as it is a constant reminder for us, and she is a piece of Ridda for our family to treasure for the rest of our lives."
