BRADFORD Women for Peace Network held a vigil and prayers for the kidnapped Nigerian School Girls calling for world leaders to take action.

The protest took place at Rawson Square, Northgate, and contributors were encouraged to wear red and take a book, pencil, artwork or poem to highlight the message of 'education for all'.

Petitions were signed to send to both the Nigerian and British governments.

The vigil marked the 100th day since the abduction of more than 200 girls who were kidnapped by terrorist group Boko Haram.

Despite an online campaign, Bring Back Our Girls, with support from world leaders such as Michelle Obama, the girls continue to be held by the terrorists who have threatened to sell them as brides.

Protest organiser Uzma Kazi said the aim was to “mark the day” and was a “sign of looking at the wider issue of education”.

The event was one of many vigils held around the world.
