PEOPLE are invited to enjoy the delights of the countryside at the Baildon Walking Weekend from tomorrow until Sunday.
There will be seven walks of varying lengths, starting with the Baildon Moor Heritage Trail at 2pm tomorrow. The 2.5-mile walk will start at the Eaves car park on Hawksworth Road.
On Saturday there are five walks. At 10am there is a eight-to-nine mile walk called A Tour de Baildon and a Taste of Salt, starting at the community garden on Hall Cliffe. Also starting at 10am is a five-mile walk from Baildon to Burley-in-Wharfedale, starting at Potted Meat Stick and including a stop at Bleach Mill cafe and return by train.
At 10.30am there is a two-mile Church 'n' Chapel walk, starting at the bus terminal in Baildon, where walkers can learn more about old churches and chapels.
There are two walks starting at 2pm, one a three-mile stroll from the Eaves car park entitled The Lost Hamlets of Baildon. The second is a family fun stroll of one mile that includes stops at playgrounds and a quiz for primary school age children. It starts at the Potted Meat Stick.
On Sunday at 10.45am walkers can follow In Darwin’s Footsteps on a six-mile walk from White Wells car park on Wells Road, Ilkley.
