A would-be robber fled, who tried to snatch a woman's gold necklace, fled empty-handed when she shouted at him.

Police are appealing for information about the attempted daylight robbery, which happened in Clayton, Bradford.

The 64-year-old victim was walking in Pentland Avenue, at about 1.45pm last Friday, when she was approached by the suspect, who tried to grab the gold necklace she was wearing.

She shouted at him and he ran off down Pentland Avenue towards Pasture Lane. The woman was not injured in the incident.

The suspect is described as Asian, in his early 20s and about 5ft 7ins tall. He had a long face and black hair.

He was wearing a pink t-shirt with blue horizontal stripes and jeans.
