WELL-KNOWN Bradford business figure Alan Wintersgill, was awarded a BEM in the recent Queen's Birthday Honours list.

Currently president of the Bradford Society of Chartered Accountants for the second time Alan founded Bradford chartered accountancy firm Naylor Wintersgill , of which he is chairman, in 1983. The firm now has eight partners and 40 staff.

He served as West Yorkshire council member at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales between 2007 and 2011 and now serves on the joint audit committee.

Alan has raised thousands of pounds for Rotary and other charities through after-dinner speaking and Naylor Wintersgill supports national and local charities, sports clubs, including junior sporting sections for which it won the community category at the Bradford Chamber of Commerce Raising the Bar inaugural awards .

Alan was president of Bingley Rotary Club in 1995/6 and district treasurer between 2000 and 2005.

he also holds a range of honorary and ambassadorial roles with local organisations, including :

Gilstead Village Society , Bingley Show , Bradford & Bingley Sports Club and Shipley Golf Club . He is chairman of Bingley Grammar School foundation governors and chairman at Woodhouse Grove School governors.
