Detectives have released images of five people who may have vital information about a street brawl in which three people were stabbed in Bradford city centre.

A total of five people needed hospital treatment after the early morning disturbance in Sackville Street on May Bank Holiday Monday.

Three men, aged 20, 19 and 17, suffered stab wounds, but are now thought to have been discharged from hospital. Two men, aged 23 and 18, were treated for minor injuries.

Police have made nine arrests and charged six people with offences ranging from violent disorder and causing grievous bodily harm to robbery and possessing an offensive weapon. They are due to appear at Bradford Crown Court later this month.

Three other people arrested were released on bail pending further inquiries. An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, a 24-year-old man on suspicion of affray, and a 21-year-old woman on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

Now, detectives investigating the incident have released images of five people, who may have witnessed the incident or have information about it.

The three men and two women are being urged to come forward and speak with police at the earliest opportunity.

The incident happened just before 6am on Monday, May 26 this year. The fight broke out after a stand off in the street between two groups.

Detective Sergeant Stuart Lyons, of Bradford District CID, said: "We are urging these people to come forward and tell us what they know about the disorder in Sackville Street, as they may have information which could be vital to our investigation.

"We would also ask for anyone who might be able to identify these people, or anyone who might have further information about the incident, to contact police on 101, or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."

Following the disturbance, Bradford Council deputy leader, Councillor Imran Hussain, who is in charge of Safer and Stronger Communities in the Bradford district, urged people to co-operate with police.

Coun Hussain insisted: "Those that are responsible for causing the unrest and those that were involved in this incident will be fully investigated."
