BRADFORD Hospice has marked the ten year anniversary for one of its volunteers.
Jacqueline Pickles, of Tyersal, started volunteering in the fundraising office at the Maudsley Street hospice in 2004.
The 74-year-old said: "I used to work in the wages and payroll office at British Gas when some of the staff were still paid cash so I was used to dealing with lots of money. Counting money in the fundraising office is the perfect job for me.
"The Bradford Hospice is a worthwhile local cause and I wanted to do something that would keep my mind active.
"My husband had died of cancer in 1987 so I didn’t want to work on the ward and there is always something to do in the busy fundraising office."
Community fundraiser for the Marie Curie hospice Helen Rowlands said: "Jacqueline is a real asset to the team and willing to get stuck in with any jobs we need help with."
