BUDDING football players joined the League of Dreams for a day during a coaching session in Keighley.

The Bradford City-themed coaching session at Marley Activity Centre involved 70 children.

The boys and girls took part in fun football skills activities and small-sided games delivered by Bradford City community coaches, led by Craig Farrand and Paul Jubb.

The session was funded with £1 donations from the sale of every copy of League of Dreams which documented the club’s successful 2012/13 season.

The book was written and produced by the Friends of Bradford City to mark the season that saw the club reach the League Cup Final and gain promotion to League 1.

The coaching session came courtesy of Bradford City, the Friends supporters group, and the club’s community partner, the Co-operative Group.

Mark Neale, chairman of the Friends of Bradford City said the book provided an exciting memento of the history-making season for primary school children.

He said: “We are delighted to using the fund created by a £1 donation from every book sold to provide opportunities for local children to participate in sport.”

Ian Ormondroyd, head of the Bradford City FC Community Trust said the club delivered a large programme to encourage children of all abilities to get involved in sport.
