PLANS to turn a vacant barber's shop in Shipley into a takeaway pizza store have been submitted to Bradford Council.
S Siras has applied for planning permission for change of use of 54 Saltaire Road, close to the border of Shipley and Saltaire. If approved the takeaway would stay open until midnight seven days a week and create four full time and four part time jobs.
The application was submitted shortly after the Council instituted a new planning guidance that would prevent takeaways from opening from within 400 metres of a school or park to discourage childhood obesity.
The application site is within 400 metres of both Wycliffe Primary School and Crowgill Park.
