THIEVES rammed a parked car to steal a unique recovery truck from a classic car garage in Bradford.
The truck has been specially built for the Quarry House garage in Dudley Hill Road, Undercliffe, so it could carry classic cars and has a sign on it in memory of garage owner Ray Calvert’s father-in-law, John Caswell, who had helped with the business before his death.
A Skoda car parked at the garage’s entrance was rammed out of the way to allow the £5,000 Iveco lorry to be driven away. Sergeant Julie Murphy, of Bradford East Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The vehicle was stolen between 7.40pm and 8.40pm on Friday, June 27. Damage was also caused to a Skoda Fabia car parked on the forecourt.
“Officers are making inquiries into CCTV in the vicinity but we would also ask anyone who saw anyone behaving suspiciously in the area around the time of the offence to make contact. The recovery truck is still outstanding.”
