BUS passengers in Bradford can now use their mobile phones as tickets.

First Bus has launched a new app which will allow customers to buy tickets online and then show it to the driver on their phone screens - and no longer have to buy one from the driver.

A spokesman said the 'First Bus Mobile Tickets' initiative has been introduced to make it easier for customers to buy tickets and remove the worry of not having the correct change, as well as to speed up boarding times. It is also hoped that the new approach will encourage more people to travel by bus.

Barry Jones, operations manager for First in Bradford, said: "This is great news for customers. The mTicket offers people an even easier way to travel and I’m confident it will help encourage more new customers onto First buses."

The ticket app is available for free download on App Store and Google Play.
